About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced officer to lead on the Howardian Hills nature recovery project delivery. Based within the Howardian Hills National Landscape staff team and hosted by North Yorkshire Council, the Conservation and Ecology Officer will use their expertise to develop, manage and deliver projects and monitor results across key themes including landscape-scale nature recovery, climate change mitigation and adaptation, farm conservation and land management, alongside related topics such as development, access, and built heritage. The role involves the development and delivery of projects to achieve the 5-year Management Plan and annual work programme, managing relationships with key partners and the community, providing specialist advice on conservation, land management and ecology matters affecting the area, coordinating and delivering projects, collating data, and reporting progress.

Experience
Proven experience in conservation, ecology or related environmental project delivery is essential. Experience working on landscape-scale nature recovery, climate change initiatives, farm conservation, or land management projects is highly desirable.

You should be able to build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders and the community. A passion for conservation and the natural environment, combined with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, is important.

Qualifications
A relevant degree or professional qualification in ecology, conservation, environmental science or a related discipline is required.
