Mobile role covering the North to Scotland when required, with Barnsley Hub base.

Hours
Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm

Salary
£50,000 per annum plus car allowance

As the HSE & Construction Site Safety Advisor, you will ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and company standards across data centre operations and construction projects. You will oversee health, safety, environmental, and quality assurance programs, aligning with best practices and legal obligations.

You will be part of the EUK central Data Centre sector team, responsible for assuring all DC FM contracts. This involves close collaboration with mobilisation and transition teams, the central technical assurance team, and operational FM teams to implement and maintain high standards.

This new role requires identifying overlaps and defining effective ways of working with various teams, continuously optimising internal processes and driving performance improvements.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert technical knowledge to managers to ensure compliance with Health and Safety relating to design, build, manage, and maintain construction projects valued between £100k and £25 million.
- Monitoring, reporting, and supporting project managers to ensure compliance with client and designer duties under CDM2015 regulations.
- Supporting risk assessments and method statements, ensuring awareness and implementation of current legislation and EMCOR UK/client procedures.
- Assisting site teams in developing construction phase plans prior to commencement.
- Conducting regular health and safety compliance evaluations, inspections, and audits, liaising with site management to ensure corrective actions.
- Ensuring construction sites and welfare provisions comply with all current regulations and standards.
- Promoting a "Be There For Life" culture embracing EHS and wellbeing principles.
- Supporting investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses, sharing lessons learned.
- Supporting continued accreditation to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
- Assisting in development and rollout of strategies and policies promoting mental and physical wellbeing.
- Representing EMCOR UK at stakeholder forums as required.
- Producing regular reports on Health, Safety, Quality, Environment, and Wellbeing performance.
- Supporting subcontractor compliance with site HSQE requirements.
- Managing delivery of contract deliverables.
- Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with client HSEQ&W representatives.
- Supporting aspects and impacts register and action management.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
- Providing technical and specialist guidance from planning through completion.
- Taking appropriate action when standards are not met.

Requirements

Experience
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a construction-related role with proven knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and understanding of SharePoint.
Experience working with HSQE systems and processes aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 is essential.
Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and deliver key objectives.
Proven ability to establish effective relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers at all levels.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage immediate issues without compromising long-term goals.

Qualifications
Qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent as a minimum.
Knowledge of building regulations and competencies related to Principal Designer/Principal Contractor roles is desirable.
