About the Role
At EMCOR UK, we revolutionise workplaces by combining engineering heritage with innovation, prioritising people in everything we do. Our purpose is to "create a better world at work". As the HSE & Construction Site Safety Advisor, you will ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and company standards across data centre operations and construction projects. You will be part of the EUK central DC sector team, responsible for assuring all DC FM contracts. This involves close collaboration with mobilisation and transition teams, the central technical assurance team, and operational FM teams to implement and maintain high standards.

This new role requires you to identify overlaps and define effective ways of working with various groups, continuously optimising internal processes and driving performance improvements. Your responsibilities include providing expert technical knowledge to managers to ensure compliance with Health and Safety in design, build, manage, and maintain phases of construction projects ranging from £100k to £25 million.

You will monitor and support project managers to meet client and designer duties under CDM2015 regulations, oversee Risk Assessment Method Statements, and ensure adherence to building regulations and competencies of Principal Designer/Principal Contractor. Supporting site teams in developing construction phase plans and conducting regular health and safety compliance evaluations, inspections, and audits will be key. You will liaise with site management to ensure timely completion of actions and compliance with welfare provisions.

Promoting a "Be There For Life" culture that embraces EHS and wellbeing principles is essential, including active promotion of account culture groups and balanced scorecards. You will support accident and incident investigations, share lessons learned, and contribute to maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 accreditations. Additionally, you will assist in developing strategies and policies that foster mental and physical wellbeing in the workplace.

Representing EMCOR UK at stakeholder forums, producing regular performance reports on Health, Safety, Quality, Environment, and Wellbeing, and supporting subcontractor compliance are also part of your role. You will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with client HSEQ&W representatives and engage with internal and external stakeholders throughout project lifecycles. Providing technical guidance from planning through completion and taking appropriate action when standards are not met will be critical to your success.

Requirements

Strong interpersonal, team working, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to respond to immediate issues without compromising long-term goals. High personal integrity, professionalism, and adaptability to change.

Qualifications
Qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety as a minimum. Knowledge of HSQE systems and processes compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
