Central London, covering multiple Household Waste Recycling Centres including Stone, Cheadle, Newcastle, Biddulph, Uttoxeter, and Leek.
Hours
Varied hours with flexibility required to cover multiple sites as part of a floating position.

About the Role
Are you passionate about customer service and the environment? Join Staffordshire County Council as a HWRC and Plant Operative and play a key role in supporting the safe disposal of waste and promoting recycling and reuse at Household Waste Recycling Centres. This hands-on role involves delivering a courteous, efficient, and environmentally responsible service to the public, ensuring compliance with legislation, permits, and council procedures. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised site environment, including traffic management and supervision, while supporting contractors and haulage teams to ensure efficient waste removal. This role requires a safety-focused team player who enjoys working outdoors and making a positive impact on the community.
Experience
- Experience in customer-facing roles, preferably within waste, recycling, or similar operational environments.
- Familiarity with waste segregation, Health & Safety practices, and Duty of Care requirements (training provided).
