About the Role
C40 is a network of nearly 100 mayors of the world's leading cities working to deliver urgent climate action to confront the climate crisis and create a future where everyone can thrive. The Inclusive Climate Action (ICA) Programme supports cities in developing and delivering local climate policies that are inclusive, equitable, and address structural inequalities to achieve climate justice and a just transition. The ICA programme provides direct assistance, peer-to-peer learning, global leadership support, and thought leadership to cities worldwide.
The successful intern will support the ICA team with monitoring and evaluation of the programme, knowledge production and dissemination, and support for the 2025 World Mayors Summit. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with international colleagues in a fast-paced global organisation, developing skills in climate action, event coordination, knowledge management, and programme delivery.
Experience
- Experience or knowledge of coordinating projects and delivering administrative and logistical support.
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills with an outcome and delivery-oriented approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop presentations and briefing documents.
- Technical knowledge of online communication systems and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proactive self-starter able to work independently.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a benefit.
About you

- Understanding of Green New Deal and Just Transition concepts is an asset.
- Personal commitment to protecting the environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across cultures, languages, and time zones is desirable.
- Experience supporting international event organisation and compiling resources for cities is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject is essential.
- Master's degree in a relevant subject is desirable.
