About the Role
INCC is a charity founded in 2018 to provide an independent voice for nature conservation in Wales, balancing campaigning and litigation with practical conservation delivery. As an Investigative Journalist, you will be at the heart of INCC’s new nature investigations team, producing high-quality, impactful journalism that informs, challenges, and inspires change for the betterment of nature in Wales. You will uncover and report on key environmental challenges such as biodiversity loss, land management, climate change, pollution, and the politics shaping nature conservation. Your work will include in-depth investigations, data-driven analysis, and compelling storytelling to engage a wide audience. You will also promote investigations across TV, radio, social media, online platforms, and print. This is a two-year post with aspirations for a permanent position.
Experience
Proven experience in investigative journalism or related fields is highly desirable. Ability to produce detailed, data-driven reports and compelling stories on complex environmental issues.
About you
Passionate about nature and environmental issues in Wales. Strong investigative skills with a commitment to holding power to account. Excellent communication skills across multiple media platforms. Self-motivated and able to work independently from home and on location. Willingness to travel across Wales as required.
Qualifications
A relevant degree or equivalent experience in journalism, environmental studies, or related disciplines is preferred but not essential. A commitment to INCC’s mission and values is essential.
