About the Role
Join Johnson Matthey, a company with over 200 years of history, and help accelerate the transition to net-zero in this critical Lead Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor role. Based at the Brimsdown site, you will be an integral part of the existing EHS team, supporting the EHS Manager on all occupational health & safety, environmental, general safety, and wellbeing matters. You will proactively contribute solutions, promote a positive safety culture, and ensure compliance with JM safety policies through implementation and verification activities. Your role will focus on driving safety risk reduction programs, reporting metrics and incidents, and managing both reactive and proactive EHS requirements.
Key responsibilities include providing early warnings and planning guidance to site leadership on safety matters, ensuring compliance with Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations and local legislation, managing day-to-day EHS operational issues such as risk assessments and queries, facilitating Management of Change (MoC) processes, verifying risk mitigation actions through audits, and leading the EHS audit program to maintain ISO and other compliance standards.
Experience
- Proven EHS experience in an industrial, process-driven, or engineering environment is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, COMAH, COSHH, Environmental Permitting, and risk assessment methodologies including HAZOP, LOPA, COSHH & Ergonomics.
- Experience as a trained auditor for ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and/or ISO 9001.

Qualifications
- Minimum NEBOSH Certificate with progression towards Diploma or equivalent health and safety qualification.
