About the Role
LondonEnergy operates the second largest waste contract in the UK, processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London’s waste annually. Our dedicated team works across North London sites to make a positive environmental and community impact. By processing household waste at our facility, we generate enough energy to power 80,000 homes each year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.

We are seeking a motivated and flexible Lead Recycling Operative to join our busy Waste Operations team at the South Access Reuse and Recycling Centre (RRC). You will support day-to-day site operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, engaging with the public, monitoring site cleanliness, and supporting waste and recycling initiatives.

The role requires basic IT skills and a willingness to undertake relevant training such as mobile plant operation and First Aid. You will also be expected to work weekends on a rota basis and assist with operational reporting and site inspections.

Experience
Previous experience in a waste operations environment is essential.

About you
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact courteously with the public. Flexible and willing to work across different RRC sites including weekends. Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel. Willingness to undertake training for mobile plant operation and First Aid. A driving licence is desirable, with willingness to drive the company reuse van if required.

Qualifications
COTC and First Aid qualifications are desirable or willingness to work towards them. Mobile plant competency certification is preferred or willingness to train.
