About the Role
Bring your drive and passion to lead CPRE London towards its vision of a greener city and manage its strategic direction and delivery. This is a rare, part-time opportunity to lead an organisation at the cutting edge of policy regarding green spaces, the environment, housing, and planning. You will manage a small but motivated team of staff and dedicated volunteers. CPRE London is a leading environmental charity in the capital, an independent charity and the London regional branch (one of 42) of the national CPRE organisation, 'The Countryside Charity'. The focus of our campaigning is to make London a well-planned, greener, climate-resilient, and nature-rich city that benefits everyone. Skills in leadership, oversight of income and expenditure, communication, negotiation, and project management are essential to run our operations effectively. In addition to leading CPRE London, you will work closely with a supportive board of trustees. Currently, the organisation is at an exciting stage developing the London Tree Ring project and is involved in many other initiatives such as the Healthy Streets Scorecard, GoParksLondon, and supporting local campaigns to protect precious green spaces from development.
Experience
Proven track record in leadership and management, ideally with experience in planning or environmental sectors. Demonstrated ability to pitch for new funding and prioritise projects. Experience liaising across the environmental space and managing small teams.
About you
Confident and motivated leader with excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills. Passionate about environmental issues and committed to making London greener and more climate-resilient. Able to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and trustees to achieve organisational goals.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in planning, environmental management, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
