Location
Home-based, with a minimum of two days per month working from our head office in Darlington, County Durham. Some travel to local authorities, events and meetings across the UK will be required.
Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Working hours between 8am and 6pm.
Salary
£56,000 per annum
About the Role
The Business Director will play a pivotal role in driving Modeshift’s strategic growth, operational efficiency, customer growth and retention, and stakeholder engagement. This role combines commercial acumen with a passion for sustainability and behaviour change, ensuring Modeshift continues to deliver high-impact programmes and services. The postholder will contribute to the strategic direction and vision across Modeshift’s annual 12 objectives. Once quantified outcomes and budgets are agreed, the postholder will be fully accountable for individual Delivery Plans for each workstream of Modeshift, including outcomes, cost, activities and reporting. They will be responsible for maintaining quality standards across workstreams, improving customer experience, and exploring new behaviour change and accreditation opportunities. Contract
Fixed term of three years with good possibility of extension.
Experience
- Senior level experience in planning and managing a portfolio of customer-facing programmes and services
- Proven track record in developing, leading, and expanding programmes and schemes
- Significant programme delivery and results-focused experience
- Senior managerial skills with experience managing a high performing team of 20+ staff
- Strong budget management, strategic delivery, relationship building, presenting, reporting, and organisational skills
- Extensive knowledge of sustainable travel delivery and best practice, including national standards for Travel Plans and the Modeshift STARS accreditation scheme
