Location
Manchester, with travel across the UK and occasional overnight stays (accommodation and meal allowances provided).
Hours
Full Time - balance of office work at Head Office (Bury) and site visits; travel requirements vary seasonally.
Salary
£30,000+ starting salary, with potential increases based on experience and performance.
About the Role
Japanese Knotweed Solutions Ltd (JKSL) is the UK’s pioneering company dedicated to the eradication of invasive plants, leading the market since 2000. We are expanding our talented team and seeking a Non-Native Invasive Plant Surveyor / Project Manager to join our Survey Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly specialised sector, managing projects to control and remove invasive species such as Japanese knotweed across diverse sites including national parks, major developments, private homes, and heritage locations.
You will conduct site surveys primarily solo or in pairs, prepare detailed survey reports and Japanese Knotweed Management Plans, create AutoCAD drawings, price projects, contribute to tender submissions, and attend pre-start meetings liaising with clients and stakeholders. You will also follow up leads, secure sales, and meet targets supported by a performance-based bonus scheme. Managing projects from start to finish, you will work closely with the Operations Department and Site Teams, building and maintaining long-term client relationships. Training by experienced professionals will equip you to manage your own portfolio of projects by 2026. A company vehicle and fuel card are provided.

Experience
Confident in Microsoft Office with some experience in AutoCAD.
Good plant identification and general botanical knowledge.
Full UK driving licence.
Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications
Essential: No specific degree required but relevant qualifications are advantageous.
Desirable (not essential, full training provided):
- Degree in environmental science, ecology, biology, geography, or related field
- Property Care Association CSJK qualification
- BASIS qualification
- PA1, PA6, PA6AW or other spraying licenses
- CSCS Card
- IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety certification
