The successful applicant will join a Scotland-wide team of 7 Rural Surveyors, 1 Building Surveyor, a Livestock & Grazing Champion and a Land Management Support Specialist. You will support the RSPB estate across Scotland, dealing with interesting and challenging casework. You will play a vital role in supporting the wider team, stepping in to backfill colleagues when needed to ensure seamless delivery across our estate.

What You’ll Do
- Manage land and property across Scotland, including rent reviews, wayleaves, sporting rights, and agri-environment agreements.
- Assist with acquisitions for new reserves and expansion of existing ones, handling valuations and negotiations that protect nature for generations.
- Deliver property disposals and acquisitions that align with RSPB’s mission and financial goals.
- Safeguard RSPB’s reputation and finances through robust systems and audits.
- Collaborate with a passionate team of surveyors and area managers to identify opportunities and maximize returns.

Requirements

Experience
- Chartered RICS (Rural) status.
- Strong post-qualification experience in Scotland in estate management and rural property transactions.
- Knowledge of Scottish land and property law, agricultural subsidy schemes, and compliance.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to travel widely across Scotland with occasional overnight stays.
- A proactive team player who can support colleagues and deliver seamless estate management.

Qualifications
- Chartered status with RICS (Rural) is essential.
- Relevant professional development supported, including CPD and annual membership fees for one professional body.
