The Packaging Sustainability Lead is a fixed-term contract role (2 years) focused on accelerating and delivering priority sustainable packaging initiatives. You will translate strategy into technically robust, compliant solutions implemented across key markets to support net zero commitments and minimize environmental impact.

This pivotal role involves leading packaging solution exploration to address sustainability challenges, ensuring alignment with legislation, corporate environmental goals, and industry best practices. You will monitor evolving legislation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and industry experts to develop and deploy sustainable packaging solutions that meet product protection and consumer expectations. Supporting the longer-term innovation pipeline, you will ensure sustainability remains central to development.

Key responsibilities include providing technical packaging leadership, stakeholder engagement, reporting, strategy execution, packaging circularity and net-zero initiatives, legislation and compliance monitoring, material development, and technology scouting. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive change management, and ensure delivery of sustainability goals aligned with business objectives.

Experience
- Proven track record in implementing packaging sustainability projects from testing through to launch
- Experience with innovative and complex packaging solutions including compostability requirements
- FMCG change management background with strong influencing skills
- Extensive network and access to industry expertise
- Deep knowledge of packaging sustainability legislation, circular economy principles, and net-zero strategies
