About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for 3 Field Service Engineers to join our Parking Operations Team. You will be the face of our operations on the street, delivering essential street infrastructure services to ensure the borough’s infrastructure is safe, functional, and well-maintained.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the full maintenance of cycle hangars across the borough, including complex relocations and rebuilds following traffic incidents. You will swiftly address faults or security issues and take proactive steps to maintain high service standards and customer satisfaction.

Your duties will include conducting site assessments for new cycle hangar locations and monthly air quality monitoring via diffusion tube changes, contributing directly to our sustainable community strategies. You will also manage parking infrastructure by performing reactive and routine maintenance on signs, lines, and posts, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

You will manage your own work streams, ensuring all reactive maintenance tasks meet procedures and KPI requirements. Additionally, you will supervise contractors to ensure project timelines and quality standards are achieved.

Experience
Proven experience working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Experience with maintenance and repair of street infrastructure or similar practical, hands-on roles is desirable. Familiarity with IT packages, specifically Google Suite, including Google Forms and digital maps, is advantageous.

About you
You must be proactive, flexible, and able to plan and prioritise workloads efficiently to meet tight deadlines. High levels of service standards and customer focus are essential. You should be willing to ride an e-bike to carry out tasks and have a driving licence with less than 6 points.

You will take responsibility for continually improving service performance to meet customer demands and work collaboratively within a team and with contractors.

Qualifications
A valid driving licence with less than 6 points is required. No specific formal qualifications are stated, but relevant practical experience and IT skills are important.
