About the Role
Renew Heat Ltd are seeking an apprentice to join the building services sector of the construction industry as a Plumbing & Domestic Heating Technician. In this role, you will learn how to size, plan, install, service, maintain and commission plumbing and heating systems. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced staff gaining hands-on experience and developing new skills.

Your responsibilities will include planning plumbing and domestic heating systems to meet customer needs and industry standards, selecting and sizing systems in line with manufacturers’ guidance and regulations, preparing for installation, installing systems according to design criteria and recognised procedures, testing and commissioning installations to ensure safe and effective operation, handing over systems to customers with clear instructions, carrying out routine servicing and maintenance, diagnosing and fixing faults, safely decommissioning systems, and following all health, safety and welfare requirements in the workplace.

The apprenticeship lasts 4 years and includes regular training with Yeovil College, where at least 20% of your working hours will be spent studying. On completion, you will achieve a Level 3 qualification as a Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician, with possible Functional Skills in Maths and English depending on your current level.

Renew Heat Ltd is a trusted local plumbing, heating and renewable energy company based in Dorset and Somerset. You will gain experience across a wide range of services including general plumbing, bathroom installations and repairs, heating services such as boiler servicing and underfloor heating, renewable energy solutions like heat pumps and solar installations, as well as emergency callouts and customer support. You will be supported by experienced Gas Safe™ engineers in a friendly and supportive team environment.

There is a possibility to continue with the business and develop into a fully qualified plumbing engineer after completing the apprenticeship.

Requirements

Qualifications
GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 9 – 4 / A* - C or equivalent are essential. Please inform the company of any other relevant qualifications or industry experience you have, as the apprenticeship can be adjusted accordingly.

Other Requirements
A full driving licence is required for this position. You must be prepared to commit fully to your work and training for the duration of the apprenticeship. Some candidates may be required to have a telephone interview with Yeovil College prior to their application being passed on.
