£16,640 for the first year, with potential increases depending on age and National Minimum Wage rates for apprentices
About the Role
As a Plumbing and Heating Engineer Apprentice, you will work alongside qualified professionals, learning essential skills and techniques of the trade. You will be involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of domestic plumbing and heating systems, with an increasing focus on renewable heating technologies. Most of your apprenticeship will be spent gaining hands-on experience on the job, working closely with seasoned professionals to develop job-specific skills essential for a successful career in plumbing.
As you progress, your responsibilities will grow to include assisting in installing and maintaining plumbing and heating systems in residential properties, including both traditional and renewable heating solutions. You will prepare work areas, ensure tools and equipment are ready and maintained, and adhere to all health and safety regulations. Additionally, you will support customer service efforts by delivering quality workmanship and professionalism, assist in troubleshooting and resolving system issues, and provide general support to the team as required.
The apprenticeship includes a Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician training course and is scheduled to start on Tuesday 1 September 2026, lasting for 5 years.
Qualifications
Essential GCSE or equivalent in Maths (grade 4) and English (grade 4). Please share any other relevant qualifications or industry experience as the apprenticeship can be tailored to reflect your existing knowledge.
