About the Role
As a Principal Sustainability Consultant at Fujitsu, you will collaborate with a diverse team of technical specialists and business consultants to manage environmental contributions across solution design and delivery. You will play a key role in improving environmental performance for a variety of customer projects across sectors including manufacturing, utilities, transport, retail, and hospitality. Your work will explore how technology can enable decision making and drive solutions to complex sustainability challenges.
Your responsibilities will include delivering successful consulting engagements focused on environmental impacts and decarbonisation, acting independently with minimal management oversight, and supporting the growth and delivery of carbon services such as Carbon Footprints, Life Cycle Assessments, Net Zero Pathways, Risk and Resilience Frameworks, and related reporting. You will deliver greenhouse gas assessments and risk analyses of technology solutions, develop and implement environmental management strategies, and recommend resource and waste management approaches.
Building and sustaining trusted senior client relationships will be essential, as will securing new work through proposal preparation, strategic bid contributions, and business development activities. You will lead multidisciplinary consulting teams by example, mentoring and upskilling junior colleagues to support their career growth. Championing diversity and inclusion and driving positive change within teams will also be key aspects of your role.
Experience
9 to 11 years of consulting experience in sustainability, decarbonisation, or related fields, gained at large consulting firms, boutique consultancies, or through delivering sustainability services.
Proven project delivery experience assessing and integrating decarbonisation and resilience solutions at asset or system levels.
Strong client-facing skills with a track record of building and nurturing senior client relationships.
Experience leading small teams (2-4 people) to deliver complex, strategically important assignments.

Qualifications
An advanced degree in engineering, environmental sciences, sustainability, or a closely related technical discipline with a focus on decarbonisation technologies or climate adaptation.
In-depth understanding of the GHG Protocol and lifecycle assessment, especially applied to technology infrastructure.
Working knowledge of Net Zero Transition Planning, Science Based Targets (SBT) methodology, climate-related risk and scenario analysis.
Familiarity with climate-related disclosures, carbon accountancy, and sustainability frameworks such as GRI, CSRD, IFRS, and TNFD.
Strong technical skills including advanced MS Excel; data analysis skills using Python or PowerBI are desirable but not essential.
Excellent knowledge of UK environmental legislation and sustainability frameworks.
Awareness of emerging sector capabilities and trends affecting the net zero transition.
