About the Role
At TE Connectivity, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world. As a Product Sustainability Specialist, you will lead and support Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) activities for ADM products, materials, and product families. You will develop Product Carbon Footprints and LCA studies in line with relevant standards including ISO 14040, ISO 14044, ISO 14067, GHG Protocol, and other applicable customer or regulatory requirements. Your role will support the integration of LCA and product carbon considerations into the New Product Development process and sustaining engineering projects.
You will partner with Engineering and Product Management teams to identify carbon reduction opportunities through material selection, design optimisation, manufacturing process improvements, supplier engagement, and lifecycle considerations. You will source, review, align, and validate product, material, supplier, manufacturing, and logistics data required for LCA and Product Carbon Footprint calculations.
Additionally, you will support the development and implementation of LCA software, tools, models, templates, and guidance materials for ADM, building and maintaining scalable LCA models usable across product platforms and material groups. Translating complex LCA findings into clear business insights, customer responses, and recommendations for cross-functional teams will be a key part of your responsibilities.
You will also support customer sustainability requests including product carbon footprint data, LCA methodology explanations, and evidence-based sustainability claims. Working with Procurement and suppliers, you will improve the availability and quality of primary emissions and material data. You will contribute to Design for Sustainability initiatives by providing data-driven insights on carbon impact, material choices, circularity, recyclability, and environmental trade-offs.
Furthermore, you will contribute to the review and selection of LCA software solutions and external data providers, develop internal training and awareness materials to improve LCA understanding across ADM and wider TE teams, and maintain awareness of evolving LCA, product carbon, sustainability, and regulatory expectations affecting ADM products and customers. You will ensure LCA outputs are robust, transparent, and suitable for internal decision-making, customer engagement, and future reporting needs.
Experience
3–5 years' experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Product Carbon Footprinting, Product Sustainability, or a related field. Strong knowledge of LCA methodologies and standards including ISO 14040, ISO 14044, ISO 14067, and the GHG Protocol. Experience using LCA/carbon modelling software and lifecycle inventory databases. Proven ability to analyse complex product, material, BOM, supplier, manufacturing, and emissions data, including data gaps, assumptions, and uncertainty. Experience delivering product carbon footprint assessments, customer sustainability requests, and environmental product evaluations.
Experience collaborating across Engineering, Product Management, Procurement, Operations, Compliance, Sustainability, and Commercial functions. Good understanding of product development processes and integrating sustainability into design and decision-making. Knowledge of eco-design, circularity, low-carbon materials, product decarbonisation, supplier emissions data, and environmental compliance requirements (e.g. REACH, RoHS, and PFAS). Experience within manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, electronics, industrial products, materials, or similar sectors. Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, and/or Python.
About you
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical sustainability information into practical business insights. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and functions. Detail-oriented and analytical with a passion for sustainability and environmental impact reduction. Proactive in maintaining awareness of evolving sustainability standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or certifications in Life Cycle Assessment, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related disciplines are desirable but not mandatory. Strong technical knowledge of LCA standards and methodologies is essential.
