About the Role
Join M&G plc as a proactive and experienced Project Manager within the Central Sustainability Office (CSO) on a 6-month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Strategy, Planning and Operations Manager, you will lead the delivery of the sustainability risk and governance plan, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction set by the Director of Corporate Affairs. This dynamic role blends high-level project management with hands-on delivery support, with approximately 3 days per week focused on project management and up to 2 days per week dedicated to detailed workstream planning and delivery. You will collaborate closely with the CSO team, the second line of defence, and wider Corporate Affairs stakeholders to keep the plan on track and ensure key outcomes are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the CSO team to scope and plan individual workstream plans, focusing on key outcomes and critical success factors.
- Plan and execute each workstream working group successfully.
- Create project structure and discipline to ensure successful delivery.
- Lead and motivate the CSO team to deliver the sustainability risk and governance plan.
- Facilitate monthly Steerco meetings and escalate risks appropriately.
- Track progress against deliverables and highlight areas at risk.
- Organise resources and resolve delivery gaps.
- Provide hands-on support where team capacity is limited.
- Build strong relationships across the business to maintain alignment and momentum.
- Prepare Board-level reports and governance materials.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards and reporting requirements.
- Provide clear and timely updates to senior stakeholders.
- Advise, challenge, and recommend actions to remove blockers and meet deadlines.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' project management experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Proven track record of successful delivery under pressure and motivating teams towards common goals.
- Hands-on approach to project management to ensure delivery where required.
- Ability to manage risks, resolve conflicts, and drive delivery outcomes.
- Experience bringing strategic insight to shape outcomes and adapt delivery to evolving goals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all seniority levels.
- Experience with MI reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong understanding of project methodologies such as PRINCE2 and Agile.
- Proficiency in project tools; ServiceNow experience highly desirable.

Qualifications
