About the Role
We are embarking on an ambitious and landmark project to help protect and restore globally important seabird populations across the Isles of Scilly. As Project Manager, you will play a central role in preparing for the successful delivery of a complex and high-profile rat eradication programme, which will have lasting benefits for wildlife, habitats, and island communities. You will manage budgets, report to funders, and engage with members of the public. The role requires developing efficient processes, navigating complex logistical challenges, and bringing together diverse partners and stakeholders. You will lead and support the Seabird Recovery team, initially consisting of two members of staff, with potential to grow depending on project needs. This role demands strong organisational and logistical skills, sound judgement, creativity, and the ability to build positive relationships. Above all, you will share our passion for keeping Scilly special and bring the drive, flexibility, and commitment needed to deliver a project of global ecological significance.

About Us
The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust is the only charity managing land for wildlife in Scilly. We are the UK’s smallest Wildlife Trust but have a significant impact, managing about half of the land across the Isles of Scilly. We are central to the local tourism industry and the largest part of the voluntary sector. Our land management focuses on rare species and habitats, archaeological interest, and providing access, enjoyment, and understanding to locals and visitors. We are part of a nationwide movement of 46 Wildlife Trusts with over 944,000 members, 38,000 volunteers, 3,600 staff, and 600 trustees caring for 100,000 hectares of land. Together, we work to reverse wildlife loss, prevent climate catastrophe, and ensure everyone has access to nature.

Requirements

Experience
Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-partner projects, ideally within conservation, environmental management, or similarly intricate operational settings. Experience managing contractors, technical specialists, and community engagement activities is essential. Experience working collaboratively and sensitively with local communities and stakeholders is required. Line management experience is advantageous.

About You
You are an adaptable and confident project manager with exceptional organisational and logistical skills. You bring sound judgement, creativity, and a calm, solutions-focused approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including local communities, project partners, technical experts, and funders. You understand the importance of collaboration and diplomacy in maintaining trust and momentum across diverse partnerships. You are motivated by making a tangible difference for seabirds, habitats, and the wider island community and share our passion for protecting what makes the Isles of Scilly special.

Qualifications
Not explicitly stated, but relevant qualifications in project management, conservation, environmental science, or related fields would be beneficial.
