About the Role
We are seeking a senior industry leader with a passion for placemaking and a strong background in sustainable development planning and transport strategy to lead and grow ITP’s regional presence in the North and Midlands. This is a unique opportunity to shape our regional business, develop talented transport planners and engineers, and help clients create more sustainable, connected, and successful places.

As Regional Director, you will provide visible leadership across one of our regional offices while collaborating closely with colleagues across ITP and the wider Haskoning business. You will be accountable for building a strong regional market position, converting opportunities into profitable work, maintaining excellent standards of delivery, and fostering an environment where people can thrive.

Your responsibilities will include leading the development and delivery of a clear regional growth plan focused on priority clients and markets aligned with ITP’s vision-led approach to transport planning and placemaking; building senior relationships with private and public sector clients; providing executive oversight of a varied project portfolio; inspiring and developing colleagues; and contributing to the leadership of ITP by connecting regional opportunities with the right technical expertise and multidisciplinary capabilities.

At Haskoning, you will join an independent, employee-owned international consultancy with over 140 years of expertise, working on diverse projects that create a positive impact on society. Our multidisciplinary teams collaborate closely with clients and partners to deliver sustainable and future-ready solutions for both the built and natural environment. We value expertise, innovation, and personal growth, offering a culture that supports your professional development and well-being.

Requirements

Experience
A substantial consultancy track record in sustainable development planning, mobility, infrastructure or placemaking, including responsibility for winning and delivering complex commissions for private and/or public sector clients. Demonstrable experience developing client accounts and market opportunities, shaping compelling propositions, and converting a healthy pipeline into sustainable, profitable growth. Leadership experience managing and developing people, building effective teams, and contributing credibly to senior business decisions. Strong commercial and project governance capability, overseeing portfolio performance, managing risk, and maintaining high standards of client service and technical quality.

About you
An industry-leading transport planner with domain knowledge and technical expertise who combines commercial judgement, technical credibility, and a collaborative leadership style. Comfortable setting direction, empowering others, and maintaining trusted senior relationships while assuring quality and relevance of work. Committed to vision-led transport planning principles with a sound understanding of development planning and built environment transport planning techniques.

Qualifications
A relevant degree and recognised professional qualification such as TPP, CEng or equivalent chartered status. An established regional network and a commitment to thought leadership and professional practice.
