About the Role
The Regional Head of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) for EMEA will provide governance, assurance, and expert support on occupational safety, process safety, environmental protection, and critical risk management. This role drives collaboration, best-practice sharing, and continuous improvement to enhance HSE performance, compliance, and organisational resilience across the region. You will provide technical advice, develop systems and processes, conduct second party audits and inspections, deliver training, and coach and mentor teams to ensure successful rollouts and adoption of HSE initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of the Global HSE strategy in the EMEA region by partnering with regional leaders to provide risk-based guidance, strengthen accountability, and embed HSE excellence into business planning, operational improvements, change initiatives, and growth activities.
- Provide regional oversight of critical risks and controls, ensuring effective management of safety and environmental risks and embedding risk-based decision-making.
- Deliver expert HSE support including investigation guidance, regulatory advice, stakeholder engagement, and promote continuous improvement through effective systems and best-practice sharing.
- Support regional HSE governance by implementing global standards, assisting local teams with regulatory and ISO 45001/14001/50001 compliance, and coordinating reporting and regulatory communication.
- Conduct regional HSE audits, assurance, and performance monitoring, analyse trends and emerging risks, and provide insights to strengthen compliance and governance.
- Facilitate regional collaboration, share best practices and lessons learned, strengthen stakeholder partnerships, and align initiatives with global HSE strategy and standards.

Experience
- Proven leadership experience within operational or field-service roles in high hazard and critical risk industries such as engineering, manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, power generation, chemicals, or construction.
- Strong knowledge of occupational safety, process safety, and critical risk management including critical control implementation and assurance.
- Experience working in HSE from the ground up, with demonstrated ability to lead incident investigations and apply root cause analysis for significant and high-potential events.
- Experience developing, implementing, and improving ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems, supported by audit and assurance expertise.
- Experience partnering with business leaders and HSE professionals to drive performance, manage risk, and implement governance frameworks.
- Proficient in using HSE reporting systems, performance data, and digital tools to support risk-based decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Ability to travel up to 30% across the EMEA region independently to build relationships, audit, and assess risks.

Qualifications
- Relevant HSE or engineering degree or equivalent.
- Recognised health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant courses or diplomas in HSE or engineering.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards.
