About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional HSE Advisor to join Galliford Try within our Specialist Services Business. You will promote a positive HS&E culture aligned with Galliford Try's Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviours programme and business leadership ambitions. Your role will involve collaborating with design, engineering and delivery teams on all HS&E matters affecting projects, attending pre-construction meetings to support risk reduction, and assisting with sub-contractor pre-qualification and onboarding.
You will contribute to the development and review of project significant risks, Construction Phase Plans (CPP), and associated documentation. Providing technical and specialist guidance to line and site management, you will assist in process improvements and undertake SSER inspections regularly. Monitoring site compliance with statutory HS&E responsibilities and business management systems will be key, alongside supporting internal and external audits related to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Leading HS&E incident investigations, liaising with regulatory bodies, and supporting operational teams to identify root causes and preventive measures will be essential. You will manage incident reports and corrective action plans via the Galliford Try ActiveSHEQ system and contribute to management and statistical reporting, presenting updates to relevant Boards and project teams.
Additional responsibilities include managing the HS&E aspects of business unit inductions, delivering HS&E training, escalating concerns to senior management, and supporting multiple Specialist Services Business Units including Digital Infrastructure, Asset Intelligence, Oak Specialist Services, and Facilities Management. This role requires agility and a broad range of competencies to fully support the division and may include additional duties for Frameworks or Joint Ventures.
