About the Role
Are you ready to make a real difference? Join the Environment Agency's High Hazard specialist team as a Regulatory Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract. You will lead a new dedicated, values-driven regulatory team focused on enhancing regulation of COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 2015) sites across England. This operational role involves providing direction to your team, embedding new regulatory roles, and building assurance within local operations to deliver an effective COMAH regime that reduces environmental impact and prevents major accidents.
You will oversee the delivery and assurance of regulation for nationally and politically significant sites, aligning COMAH regulation with environmental objectives, anticipating trends, and identifying opportunities for intelligence-driven regulation to maximise environmental improvement. As a leader, you will coach your team through cultural and business change, maintain their health, safety and wellbeing, and manage ways of working to meet future needs.
Your role requires effective collaboration across the organisation, working agilely to deliver outcomes. You will lead a team comprising Principal and Senior Regulatory Officers, managing regulatory compliance through inspections, audits, and incident investigations. You will also have an incident management role, supported by training and additional payments.
