About the Role
Do you want to help shape the future of Wiltshire's rivers and wetlands? Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic River Restoration Lead to join our ambitious Water Team. You will lead the development and delivery of complex river and wetland restoration projects, working collaboratively with landowners, contractors, communities, and partner organisations to create lasting benefits for wildlife, water, and people.
Working within the wider Nature Recovery Directorate, your role will involve restoring natural river processes, reconnecting floodplains, and delivering innovative catchment-scale solutions. You will turn ambitious ideas into successful projects on the ground, contributing to multi-year restoration programmes, nature-based solutions, biodiversity net gain, and catchment partnerships.
Our Water Team has over 20 years’ experience restoring freshwater habitats and is recognised for delivering high-quality, evidence-led conservation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate and supportive team, working alongside specialists in freshwater, farming, ecology, species recovery, and nature markets to deliver integrated, landscape-scale conservation.

Experience
Proven experience in leading river and wetland restoration projects, working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including landowners, contractors, and community groups.

Enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for freshwater habitat restoration and nature recovery. Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to deliver complex, multi-year programmes. Excellent communication and partnership-building abilities. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in ecology, environmental science, conservation, or a related discipline are desirable. Evidence of continuous professional development in freshwater restoration or related fields is advantageous.
