About the Role
Energy Sparks is a charity dedicated to creating a sustainable future by placing school communities at the heart of measurable climate action. We equip children and young people with the knowledge, skills, and tools to reduce carbon emissions in their schools and wider communities. As a School Support and Energy Data Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting schools to reduce their carbon footprint by managing energy data and providing direct support to schools, multi-academy trusts, and local authorities. This varied role involves coordinating energy data feeds, resolving data quality issues, setting up new schools on our platform, and engaging users to maximize energy-saving impact. You will liaise with energy suppliers, meter operators, and school stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely data management, while contributing to the evaluation and development of Energy Sparks’ tools and programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your organisational skills, attention to detail, and persistence within a small, collaborative team working remotely with a core base in Bath.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven ability in effective data management and quality control.
- Experience liaising confidently with a range of stakeholders including schools, multi-academy trusts, local authorities, and energy suppliers.
- Analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly with Excel and Google Sheets.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.

About you
- Highly organised with outstanding attention to detail.
- Persistent and persuasive in obtaining accurate energy data.
- Reliable record-keeping and process-driven.
- Interest in sustainability and commitment to supporting the transition to net zero carbon.
- Able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Confident in liaising with staff at all levels.
- Willingness to learn and embrace a variety of tasks within a small team.

Qualifications
There are no formal qualifications required for this role. Candidates with an interest in energy efficiency, energy management, or commercial energy metering are welcome but not essential. A positive attitude and the essential skills listed above are the priority.
