We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Air Quality Consultant to join our growing Energy team based in one of our UK offices: Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Inverness, Leeds, London, or Manchester. You will work on diverse projects across the UK and internationally in sectors such as energy, transportation, and advisory. Recent international projects include locations such as Ireland, Australia, Hong Kong, Qatar, Vietnam, Barbados, the USA, and the UAE.

Your role will involve delivering air quality assessments for UK planning and permit applications, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and large-scale projects for governments, international financial institutions, and private banks. Responsibilities include providing country-wide policy advice, monitoring and modelling, leading air quality assessments, conducting technical reviews, project management, and mentoring junior team members. You will also have opportunities to contribute to business development and proposal production.

As part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, you will be integral to delivering major UK infrastructure initiatives, international development projects, and nationally significant infrastructure projects. This role offers the chance to take on increased responsibility and work on impactful projects that shape the future of energy and transport.

Experience
- Minimum five years’ experience as an air quality consultant, with proven ability to lead air quality assessments and coach junior team members.
- Experience leading bids and project management is advantageous.
- Proficiency in internationally recognised dispersion models including ADMS, ADMS-Roads, and AERMOD.
- Experience delivering energy generation projects in the UK or internationally.
- Strong background in UK transport-related projects, familiar with UK assessment approaches and tools including GIS platforms.
- Skilled in modelling transport and industrial emissions for planning and permit applications.
- Ability to produce comprehensive, high-quality reports for stand-alone and EIA assessments.

- Experience in training and mentoring junior team members.
- Good knowledge of monitoring approaches for various pollutants.

Qualifications
- Degree or Masters in a relevant air quality or environmental subject.
- Desirable skills include experience developing emissions inventories for regional projects, operational monitoring and CEMS data analysis, GIS proficiency, and use of OpenAir and Python.
- Fluency in French, Spanish, or German is a plus.
