About the Role
The Royal Borough of Greenwich Repairs and Investment Section is seeking a strong and highly motivated Senior Building Surveyor with excellent knowledge and passion for strategic asset management and stock condition survey. In this exciting role, you will lead and manage a high-performing Building Surveying team, driving effective delivery, performance, and professional development. You will lead the development and delivery of a Stock Condition Survey (SCS) programme, ensuring full asset coverage, high-quality data, and alignment with strategic asset management objectives. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the planning and execution of surveys, managing internal teams and/or consultants, setting productivity targets, and ensuring robust quality assurance. You will ensure stock condition data is accurate, validated, and integrated within asset systems to inform responsive repairs, compliance, cyclical maintenance, and long-term investment planning. Additionally, you will develop and maintain a five-year housing investment plan using stock condition data, lifecycle modelling, and strategic priorities including energy efficiency and decarbonisation. Collaboration across Housing and Sustainability teams to deliver value for money and support wider strategic objectives is essential. You will also lead on procurement and management of planned works and professional services contracts in line with public sector requirements and drive continuous improvement in data quality, survey methods, and use of technology.
Experience
- Proven ability to lead stock condition surveys, update systems with condition data, and validate survey results.
- Experience working closely with Housing Energy and Sustainability teams to ensure accurate investment decisions, effective retrofitting programmes, value for money, and strong data management.
- Experience liaising with colleagues across Repairs & Investment, Housing, and other Council departments to ensure effective planning and delivery of capital works programmes.
- Line management experience of a Building Surveying team, demonstrating excellent performance management and team development skills.

Qualifications
