About the Role
As Senior Business Development Manager Hydrogen at Hydropulse, a subsidiary of ITM Power, you will lead the development of customer projects from conception to operation. You will support these projects with economic modelling, business case preparation, and delivery of customer-centric proposals. Your role involves developing high-quality sales opportunities and leading technical and commercial discussions to analyse project requirements and prepare Bid/No-Bid recommendations. You will build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, working closely with them to implement tailored hydrogen solutions.

You will lead the commercial development and execution of customer funding programmes, coordinating internal and external stakeholders to secure funding, support successful project delivery, contribute to strategic market development, and strengthen Hydropulse’s positioning in the UK and international markets. Your responsibilities also include structuring and negotiating long-term hydrogen supply contracts and project partnerships.

Close collaboration with teams in Engineering, Strategy, Finance, Legal, and Aftersales, as well as with customers and external business partners, is essential to deliver complex projects. You will represent Hydropulse at conferences, trade fairs, and hydrogen associations to actively develop and maintain the customer network.

Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in the energy, industrial gases, or hydrogen sector
- Proven track record in developing and managing complex industrial projects, aligning commercial, technical, regulatory, operational, legal, and financial considerations
- Proven success in business development, sales, and negotiations
- Experience with Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR) and a proven track record
- Initial leadership and project funding application experience is an advantage
- Business travel is part of this role; a valid driver’s licence is required

About you
- University degree in economics, engineering, or a comparable field
- Combination of technical understanding and strong commercial acumen
- Ability to communicate effectively with decision-makers in industry, politics, and partner companies
- High self-motivation, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills

- Additional qualifications related to hydrogen or energy sectors are advantageous but not mandatory
