About the Role
HLM Landscape team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Chartered Landscape Architect (ILI or CMLI) to take on the role of a Project Leader. You will join our growing landscape team with studios in the UK and Ireland, working within a strong studio culture alongside Architects, Masterplanners, and Interior Designers in an integrated and inclusive design approach. Our diverse portfolio includes projects varying in scale and complexity across multiple sectors. We are looking for creative, self-motivated, and enthusiastic individuals who can lead projects and teams, with a passion for design and client satisfaction. Our award-winning schemes include the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh; The Wave, Exterior Project of the Year at Education Property Awards 2025; Irish Design & Excellence Awards 2022 Healthcare Project of the Year – NCH Satellite Centre at Tallaght University Hospital; RIBA Home 2030 Design Competition Finalist; Trent View College - Building Awards 2024; LIHE Life Sciences & Research Clusters Conference & Awards 2025; and The Concourse, Public Realm, Sheffield – Civic Trust Awards Regional Finalist.
Key Role & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Project Leader managing multiple projects within multi-disciplinary teams
- Degree or masters in Landscape Architecture
- Chartered member of the Irish Landscape Institute or the UK Landscape Institute with a minimum of 8 years post-Chartership experience
- Ability to mentor and support team members through project development and Chartership
- Experience with Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013
- Knowledge of the Irish Planning System is an advantage
- Experience working on Department of Education projects in ROI is advantageous
Experience & Skills
- Excellent design skills
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit is an advantage
- Proficient in Adobe Suite including InDesign and Photoshop; Illustrator is an advantage
- Proven specification writing capability using NBS software
- Understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
- Experience across all work stages from concept through construction and site delivery
- Experience managing at least one project valued at €20 million or more
Desirable Skills
- Experience with CS Artisan RV
- Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA)
- Arc GIS
