The Communications Directorate leads the way in telling this story with simple, clear, and creative communications. As a Senior Content Designer, you will help build a stronger GOV.UK service for the department and its users. This is a pivotal time as we implement a more strategic approach to content design.
You will manage a busy workflow of day-to-day publishing and strategic projects, supporting a variety of stakeholders with complex needs across the department’s activities. You will champion best practice, ensuring content is understandable, usable, and accessible to the public, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Working directly with top experts on a high priority government mission, you will deliver timely and trustworthy content on GOV.UK, a platform trusted by millions with 2.3 billion page views in 2025.
Experience
Extensive content design experience with proven ability to create and manage accessible, usable, and user-centred content.
Specific experience with GOV.UK is essential; you must demonstrate this clearly in your application.
Detailed knowledge of content design best practices and the ability to act as a champion, advisor, and advocate for users.
Experience leading projects, managing continuous improvement work, and collaborating across multiple disciplines and levels.
High quality standards with a rigorous, detail-oriented approach and ability to build procedures to manage risk.
