About the Role
Integrated Graphene (iGii) is seeking a Senior Development Scientist with deep expertise in electrochemical environmental and heavy metal sensing to join our rapidly expanding R&D department. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high-growth, fast-paced, and collaborative environment, engaging with leading customers and conducting research at the forefront of science and technology. In this role, you will own defined technical work packages and sensor development streams, guiding projects from feasibility and proof-of-concept through validation, scale-up readiness, and transfer into product development.

You will set experimental strategy, make evidence-based technical decisions, and influence project direction, timelines, and priorities aligned with the company’s innovation roadmap and commercial goals. As a senior scientist, you will lead by example through significant hands-on lab work, shaping the direction of biosensor development while remaining deeply engaged in experimental design and execution.

The role focuses on developing real-world viable solutions using established industry methods and materials. You will collaborate with R&D and Engineering teams to define sensor performance requirements, develop novel methodologies, optimise processes, and conduct rigorous performance assessment and benchmarking. Key tasks include designing and executing verification and validation experiments, preparing buffer solutions, running accumulation and stripping experiments, detecting environmental and heavy metal ions using Gii electrodes, evaluating matrix and interference effects, and preparing high-quality technical documentation.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package including private medical insurance, group life insurance, income protection, mental wellbeing resources, training and development opportunities, flexible scheduling around core hours (09:30am - 16:00pm), and a supportive, social, and collaborative company culture. Visa sponsorship and relocation support are available.

Join us to work with a diverse, international team on impactful challenges, contribute to a mission-driven company, and grow your career in a high-growth environment with smart, curious, and action-oriented colleagues.
