About the Role
We are seeking a site-based Senior Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to join our construction team on the Heathrow Project. In this role, you will support the Environmental & Sustainability Manager and Construction Team to ensure environmental and sustainability requirements are effectively implemented across the project. You will help deliver the client’s carbon, environmental and sustainability objectives by supporting their implementation and monitoring site activities to maintain effective environmental controls. Additionally, you will collaborate with the design team to confirm that carbon reduction opportunities are considered and that designs comply with environmental standards.

Key responsibilities include contributing to environmental and sustainability objectives in line with Ferrovial Construction UK policies and project requirements; assisting in the preparation, implementation and review of environmental management documentation such as Environmental Management Plans, Site Waste Management Plans and Dewatering Management Plans; building strong relationships with project teams, supply chain partners and stakeholders through regular site visits and engagement; developing and delivering environmental briefings, communications and awareness initiatives; collaborating with designers and supply chain partners to identify and implement carbon reduction and sustainability opportunities throughout the project lifecycle; monitoring environmental compliance and supporting audits and inspections; assisting in the preparation of environmental and sustainability performance reports; supporting the development and management of environmental performance monitoring systems including SmartWaste; assisting with environmental incident investigations; supporting environmental assurance, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives; providing guidance and mentoring to junior team members; ensuring client and stakeholder environmental requirements are communicated and embedded; and promoting Ferrovial Construction UK's vision, values and sustainability commitments.

Requirements

Experience
Strong experience in an environmental and sustainability role within the construction, infrastructure or major projects sector. Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and supply chain partners. Experience working within construction, infrastructure or major projects environments is desirable. Knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations and industry best practice is preferred. Experience using carbon assessment and reporting tools and contaminated land assessment and management is advantageous.

Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Membership of ISEP (or working towards membership) or a related professional body is desirable. CSCS Card is preferred. Familiarity with circular economy principles and resource efficiency initiatives is an advantage.
