Responsibilities include project delivery, technical reporting, client liaison, and supporting junior team members. You will work across a varied portfolio of UK projects, taking ownership of project scopes, programmes, site investigations, environmental sampling, risk assessments, remediation strategies, validation reporting, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This role offers a practical and technically focused working environment with opportunities to develop both site-based and office-based project delivery skills within a supportive consultancy.

About the Consultancy
The employer is an established environmental and geotechnical consultancy providing specialist advice across contaminated land, ground investigation, geotechnical engineering and environmental risk. The business supports clients through the full project lifecycle, from early-stage due diligence and desk studies through to intrusive investigation, risk assessment, remediation strategy, validation and project completion. The consultancy fosters a collaborative and professional culture, offering opportunities for technical and career development.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and deliver geo-environmental and contaminated land projects from enquiry to completion, including preparation of scopes, programmes and technical delivery plans. Coordinate site works, subcontractors, laboratories and internal resources while monitoring project progress, deadlines, budgets and deliverables. Plan and supervise Phase 2 ground investigations and intrusive works such as trial pits, window sampling and boreholes. Undertake environmental sampling and prepare accurate site records and monitoring data. Prepare Phase 1 desk studies, preliminary risk assessments, Phase 2 geo-environmental reports, and develop conceptual site models. Interpret soil, groundwater, gas and laboratory data and undertake contaminated land risk assessments. Support remediation strategies, verification and validation reporting, and liaise with contractors, clients and regulators. Act as a key client contact, attend meetings, and support strong client relationships. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
