About the Role
The Senior Offshore Windfarm Controller plays a critical role in supporting site operations by managing and coordinating the safe, efficient, and cost-effective transfer of personnel and equipment between the onshore base and offshore work sites via marine vessels. This includes ensuring all necessary conditions are met before transit, such as valid work orders and competent, authorised staff. The role involves remote monitoring and operation of turbine status via SCADA to identify and respond to issues promptly, maximizing generation efficiency.

The Controller acts as Operational Controller under the main contractor’s Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR), managing asset control transfers after due diligence checks on authorisations, paperwork, and team composition. Working under site-approved High Voltage Safety Rules (HVSR), the Controller is solely responsible for managing and coordinating associated HV works, ensuring safety measures are always applied.

Key responsibilities include HV management of the wind farm, offshore work coordination, wind turbine management, and associated training. The role requires preparing switching schedules, coordinating HV switching operations, monitoring weather and sea conditions to make safe transit decisions, organising vessel audits, managing marine traffic, and initiating emergency response plans.

The Controller will also support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures, report on KPIs, assist in maintenance planning, and work closely with contractors to optimise offshore logistics and operational expenditure while maximising health and safety performance.

This role offers a comprehensive training path towards achieving authorisations to manage High Voltage operations up to 66kV and includes bespoke marine training and emergency response training as required.
