About the Role
Join IDOM as a Senior Substation Engineer specializing in Protection and Control within our Energy team based in Manchester and London offices. You will define and implement protection schemes for transformers, busbars, and feeders, design IEC 61850 architecture and SCADA integration, supervise relay logic configuration and FAT/SAT testing, and ensure compliance with UK utility standards and protection philosophies. Your role will include performing protection coordination studies, providing technical leadership, acting as the main technical contact for clients, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Experience
Over 8 years of experience in substation design focusing on Protection and Control. Proven ability to work autonomously and lead design packages. Experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers. Familiarity with UK utility standards. Experience with tools such as AutoCAD/MicroStation, DIgSILENT, PSCAD, and CDEGS is desirable.

About you
Degree or Master's in Electrical Engineering. Chartered Engineer status is desirable but not essential. Strong leadership and client interface skills. Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Attracted to working in a multinational company with a collaborative culture. Spanish language skills are a plus.
