About the Role
We’re looking for a Marine Environmental Consultant to lead and contribute to a broad spectrum of environmental studies, including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA). Working across subsea cables, offshore renewables, and oil and gas sectors, you will help shape sustainable solutions that drive responsible development and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future. This role requires well-developed technical expertise and experience in permitting and consenting processes, alongside excellent project management skills. There is potential to develop the role to include and support new products and services in the marine sector to meet the increasing global demand for sustainable energy solutions.
The role involves managing a wide range of environmental studies across a varied portfolio of projects and sectors, ensuring consultancy solutions are sustainable as we move towards a low carbon future. You will have the opportunity to engage in all aspects of consultancy services from specialist technical support, business development, to staff development, providing a great chance to advance your career.
Key activities include liaising proactively and reactively with internal and external stakeholders to provide or obtain information, building relationships and contacts to facilitate future information exchange, and supporting new product and service development within the marine sector and wider renewable energy and marine consenting projects.

Experience
- Degree or Masters in a relevant discipline such as environmental sciences or similar
- Skilled in ornithology, underwater sound, marine ecology, marine mammals, or fish and shellfish assessments
- Considerable experience in relevant sectors including subsea cables, offshore renewables, and oil and gas
- Demonstrable track record in technical leadership of project teams
- Proven experience delivering consenting and environmental assessment solutions in marine energy and related industry sectors
- Experience preparing successful tender submissions and proposals
- Strong technical, analytical, organisational, and communication skills

Qualifications
A relevant degree or Masters qualification is essential. Additional specialist skills in marine environmental disciplines and permitting processes are highly desirable.
