About the Role
As a Social Sustainability Manager at Royal BAM Group, you will lead and deliver social sustainability initiatives that generate positive outcomes across social mobility, employment, education, skills development, community investment, volunteering, and social inclusion. Working closely with internal teams, clients, and local communities, you will plan, promote, deliver, monitor, and report on BAM’s social sustainability activities. You will ensure social value commitments are met, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and deliver meaningful, lasting benefits to the communities where BAM operates.
The role involves a blend of office, home, and project site working with flexible arrangements and requires regular travel. You will lead and develop high-performing teams through coaching and performance management, inspire and engage stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement and innovation.
You will act as a subject matter expert in social sustainability and social value, applying industry-leading approaches and measurement frameworks. You will lead the development and delivery of social sustainability strategies aligned with client requirements and National TOMs, delivering initiatives across employment, skills, education, volunteering, community investment, and social inclusion.
Compliance and assurance are key responsibilities, ensuring BAM policies, contractual obligations, and best practices are met. You will develop and maintain documentation and reporting processes, lead stakeholder and community engagement, and embed social sustainability requirements into procurement and supply chain activities.
Supporting business development through bid writing, tender submissions, and client presentations is also part of the role. You will champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, promote a culture of respect and belonging, and work collaboratively with clients and supply chain partners.
Additionally, you will analyse performance data to provide insights, measure and report social value outcomes, and implement lessons learned to maximise impact and performance.
