About the Role
Help maximise the impact of community solar across South East London by joining South East London Community Energy (SELCE) as a Solar Engagement & Asset Management Officer. This unique role combines technical asset management with community engagement to ensure community-owned solar installations perform at their best and deliver maximum environmental and community benefits. You will monitor SELCE's solar portfolio, bring underperforming systems back into use, and support the development of local solar expertise. Your work will include analysing generation data, coordinating maintenance, supporting schools to recover the full value of their solar installations, and mentoring volunteers through various programmes.

You will also support the delivery of renewable energy and decarbonisation projects, assist with site surveys and technical assessments, and provide operational and administrative support. Additionally, you will play a key role in SELCE's volunteer programme, helping residents purchase solar with confidence through training, recruitment, and quality assurance activities. Representing SELCE at community events and building strong relationships with schools, residents, and partners will be an important part of your role.

Experience
- Experience working with commercial or domestic solar PV systems
- Good understanding of solar monitoring platforms and performance analysis
- Knowledge of solar PV components and common faults
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience of making presentations, teaching, or supporting adult learning
- Experience of solar asset management (desirable)
- Experience producing technical reports (desirable)
- Experience working with schools or local authorities (desirable)
- Experience recruiting or supervising volunteers (desirable)
