About the Role
SpartanX is seeking experienced Solar Installers to join our residential field operations team. This hands-on role requires installers who take pride in clean, efficient work and know how to advance projects without sacrificing safety or quality. You will work as part of a field crew installing residential solar systems, ensuring every project meets SpartanX standards from arrival through completion. The role involves installing rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems, laying out and installing racking, modules, attachments, flashing, and related components. You will safely perform roof penetrations, sealing, and weatherproofing, read and follow site plans and project documentation, assist with system wiring within the scope of the position, and identify any roof, structural, equipment, or installation concerns to communicate to field leadership. Maintaining accurate project photos and completion documentation, operating ladders, hand and power tools, and fall-protection equipment safely, and keeping an organized and safe job site are essential. You will collaborate closely with Electricians, Crew Leads, and Field Operations to complete projects efficiently and communicate professionally with homeowners while onsite.
Experience
Previous solar installation, roofing, electrical, or residential construction experience preferred. Residential solar installation experience is strongly preferred.
About you
Comfortable working on rooftops and ladders for extended periods. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. Understanding of basic roofing practices and proper weatherproofing techniques. Ability to read basic plans, layouts, measurements, and project documentation. Strong work ethic and ability to maintain productivity throughout the workday. Commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Ability to work effectively as part of a field crew. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required. Ability to safely lift, carry, and move solar modules, equipment, and materials.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include previous residential solar installation experience, roofing or residential construction background, electrical experience, OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, experience with multiple residential solar mounting systems, and familiarity with battery storage installations.
