About the Role
The Solar Master Electrician is responsible for the safe and productive repair and maintenance of commercial and utility scale Solar PV plants. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production and ensure a safe, reliable clean energy future. Key duties include maintaining solar modules, strings, trackers, and inverters, conducting DC and AC testing, interpreting schematics, and maintaining equipment such as single axis trackers, inverters, transformers, disconnects, and substation equipment. The role also includes maintaining company property, service reports, inspection documentation, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory. Additionally, the Solar Master Electrician provides maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians and identifies and mitigates safety hazards. This position requires working outdoors at various job sites and complying with all safety standards and procedures while wearing required PPE.
Experience
Familiarity with electrical systems and components, proficiency in using power tools for repair tasks, ability to read and interpret schematics accurately, and experience operating under OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and 70B standards.
About you
Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, able to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight, willing to learn NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices. Must have the ability to travel and work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.
Qualifications
Valid Driver’s License, Master Electrician license required, OSHA 10 General Industry certificate, proficiency with MS Office suite, and physical ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day. Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
