About the Role
Wood’s Renewables team is recruiting a Renewable Energy Consultant specialising in Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to join our expanding Renewables Advisory team. Working within our Sustainable Infrastructure business, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering advisory, engineering, and technical solutions across solar, onshore and offshore wind, energy storage, wave, tidal, and hydro projects. Our projects range from grid power systems for remote locations with capacities of a few hundred kilowatts to some of the world’s largest renewable energy developments with capacities of thousands of megawatts.
This role focuses on providing advisory services related to due diligence assignments, particularly for Solar PV, BESS, and Hybrid schemes. You will support solar and BESS project developments by providing engineering inputs from initial assessment through technical and economic feasibility, development phase due diligence, construction monitoring, acceptance, and operation monitoring primarily at the megawatt scale.
Key responsibilities include preparing technical documents such as specifications, reports, proposals, calculations, and contracts; conducting site visits in the UK and abroad; providing technical support to clients; performing technical assessments of Solar PV and BESS products and devices; supporting a wider multi-disciplined engineering team; acting as a client interface; and managing projects or tasks with responsibility for technical, programme, and budget performance.
Joining Wood means becoming part of a dynamic business leading engineering solutions for a net-zero future, with opportunities to work across a wide range of projects to expand your expertise and experience.
