About the Role
We are Ofwat, the Water Services Regulation Authority, responsible for regulating the water sector in England and Wales. We have three Senior Associate Stakeholder Engagement Lead roles available within our Communications and Engagement Team in the Office of the Chief Executive Directorate.

The water sector is entering a new chapter with a bold government direction to deliver better outcomes for customers and the environment. We collaborate with fellow regulators to respond to key reports and government strategies shaping the future of water governance in England and Wales.

These roles will support the creation of a new body for England by working alongside the Drinking Water Inspectorate, the Environment Agency, and Natural England, while continuing to support the Welsh Government on future arrangements.

Your mission will be to hold water companies to account, drive performance, and ensure the sector delivers real value for customers, communities, and the environment. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact and help shape the future of water.

Each Stakeholder Engagement Lead will focus on one of three priority areas:
1. Water efficiency campaign – Leading the high-profile cross-regulatory behaviour change initiative, Let's Save Water.
2. RAPID (Regulators' Alliance for Progressing Infrastructure Development) – Promoting and explaining RAPID’s work accelerating major water infrastructure projects.
3. Cross-cutting – Leading engagement across a range of priority programmes within the central Stakeholder Engagement team.

Key deliverables include developing and delivering stakeholder engagement plans, advising senior leaders, building strong relationships, monitoring external insights, managing events and speaking engagements, and producing high-quality communications to support engagement activities.

Experience
- Strong experience designing and delivering strategic stakeholder engagement plans aligned with corporate priorities, including objective setting, strategy design, and evaluation.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Collaborative working style, engaging partners across teams and levels to develop and deliver engagement plans.
- Experience working with external stakeholders, agencies, or contractors to deliver campaigns, projects, or events is desirable.
- Skilled in monitoring external landscapes, analysing developments, and communicating insights to inform policy and decision-making.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-profile environments with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience managing and designing speaking engagements, events, and visits involving senior colleagues and stakeholders.
