We are seeking a Sustainability Engineer/Consultant to join our London or Bicester office to make sustainability happen today. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting sustainability appointments under the RIBA Green overlay framework, with emphasis on LEED, BREEAM, and other certification schemes
- Conducting BREEAM and LEED assessments
- Reviewing evidence and data analysis, issuing reports, meeting minutes, technical reports, presentations, and action lists
- Liaising with other offices and delegating work as needed
- Carrying out independent research to support the sustainability team and wider business
- Assisting with project bids, tender preparation, and coordination with bidding and design teams
- Providing flexibility to assist the SS&CC team and wider business in meeting deadlines
- ESG data collection and analysis

Requirements

Experience
12-18 months’ experience delivering sustainability projects working with external stakeholders
Good working knowledge of LEED BD+C and BREEAM schemes
Background in consulting or construction preferred
Understanding of the UK construction process and design & planning process
Experience interacting with planners is advantageous
General understanding of Building Services design and industry engineering terms
Good knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher
Working knowledge of project collaboration software such as Tracker Plus, 4projects, ACC, etc.
Ability to present clearly to design teams, both in person and via video calls
Working knowledge of QA systems and ISO9001/14001/50001 compliance is advantageous
Good understanding of international working and global consultancy business operations

Ability to produce high quality written reports
Ability to work to deadlines and budgets
Strong prioritisation skills
Flexibility to meet deadlines and travel to site meetings/inspections
Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
Ability to work remotely using MS Teams, Zoom, Chime, Google Docs, etc.
Ethical approach aligned with the Group’s Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines
Ability to embed sustainability principles into projects and follow Group Sustainability guidelines

Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent in engineering or environmental discipline
LEED AP and/or BREEAM AP qualifications advantageous
Qualified in, or working towards qualification in one or more of the following is advantageous: WELL, Fitwel, NABERs, ISO 50001/2, ISO 14001, LCEA level 5, EPC, TRUE, DNGB, IES, PAS 2080, LCA
