About the Role
The Test Environment Manager will coordinate and manage test environments for multiple application development groups within Cubic Transportation Systems. The role supports a continuous release schedule across platforms including Java, .NET, and various dynamic languages integrated with Oracle and SQL Server databases. You will collaborate with project managers, operations, test managers, and senior engineering managers to sequence testing projects on limited environments and oversee a small team of Logistics and Commissioning Engineers. This position covers the full product lifecycle from concept through development, testing, implementation, and operational support, reporting directly to the Head of Test.

The role involves managing internal and external audits, driving compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), international and national standards, and customer/regulatory requirements. You will lead process improvements, provide training and advice, analyze departmental performance data, and administer software, hardware, and data releases. Additionally, you will support customer assurance visits, maintain key performance indicators, and ensure environment uptime and consistency using monitoring tools like AppDynamics or bespoke solutions.

Key responsibilities include managing environment configurations, incident investigation, troubleshooting, resource allocation, and resolving conflicts between teams competing for testing resources. You will also manage and support your direct reports through performance management and goal setting, ensuring security patches and software updates meet developer and tester requirements. The role requires strong stakeholder communication and collaboration to meet ongoing and future project demands.
