About the Role
The Trainee Data Officer will join a growing team responsible for managing and optimising the organisation’s data, supporting daily operations, ensuring compliance, and improving performance through innovation. The role focuses on maintaining and improving current databases and CRM systems, removing data silos, and integrating data across the company. As part of a small organisation, this role offers broad experience including developing the CRM user interface and experience, designing new data models and architecture, and supporting data governance and quality initiatives.
The role includes ongoing mentor guidance and on-the-job learning with support from Officers, Senior Officers, and the Team Manager. Trainees are expected to progress to Officer grade after successfully completing probation, typically within one year, with a corresponding salary increase. The Officer grade pay band starts at £31,850 at the time of posting.
Key responsibilities include working closely with Senior Data Officers and the Data Team Manager to develop and deliver operational databases, digitising and quality assuring data, supporting data management improvements, writing policies and documentation, collating and presenting data for various audiences, responding to data requests, and maintaining strong cross-team relationships. The role requires managing one’s own workload independently within a dispersed national team, with high standards of self-management and flexibility.
