Cawood Scientific Limited is the largest independent provider of analytical laboratory testing and sampling services for the land-based industries in the UK, with 15 sites nationwide specialising in various types of analysis. As a Trainee Environmental Technician, you will conduct routine environmental monitoring across three key service areas: Water, Construction, and Compliance, following company protocols, quality assurance standards, and client contract specifications. Your responsibilities will include routine checks and maintenance of environmental control systems and client infrastructure, providing a reliable and professional service to clients, and building strong, trustworthy relationships on-site. You will represent Enitial positively in the field by maintaining clean equipment, vehicles, and PPE, respecting company assets, and ensuring routine calibrations and maintenance are completed as required. Working collaboratively within regional teams, you will help maintain morale and offer assistance where needed. You will report any deviations or non-conformances that could impact data integrity to relevant managers and analysts, manage your time efficiently, and suggest improvements to scheduling and work processes. Accurate data management and timely reporting to Data Analysts are essential. You will also identify potential commercial opportunities to benefit Enitial and improve client sites. Safety is paramount; you will proactively ensure accident and near miss reporting in line with company policy and use the 'Stay Safe' remote working application when on-site. Additionally, you will liaise with laboratories and couriers to ensure sample compliance, assist with on-site training of new employees to support their onboarding, and complete routine administrative tasks such as expenses and vehicle checks through central systems.
