About the Role
Culture for Climate Scotland believes in the power of the arts, culture, and screen sectors to help achieve sustainability in Scotland and globally. We inspire, illuminate, communicate, educate, entertain, and encourage new ways of thinking and shared experience – all essential to tackling climate change. We support individuals and organisations in these sectors to be sustainable themselves and to lead and influence climate action through their creative work, including collaboration with environmental experts and organisations working directly on climate change.
We are a nimble, positive, influential, and growing charity operating in a dynamic field. Demand and enthusiasm for our work in carbon emissions reduction and climate change adaptation are strong from both cultural and climate sectors. We receive significant annual funding from Creative Scotland, the public body supporting arts, screen, and creative industries in Scotland.
If you are a people-person with experience in planning and delivering events and training, this is the perfect role for you. You will coordinate the development, delivery, and evaluation of training and events within Culture for Climate Scotland, working across our Green Arts, Screen, and culture/SHIFT programmes, while contributing to wider organisational activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering existing training workshops introducing our work
- Developing and delivering online training workshops for people working in Scotland’s arts, culture, and screen sectors
- Developing and delivering in-person and online events to connect cultural organisations with one another and with relevant local and regional climate stakeholders to further their climate work through collaboration
- Delivering and monitoring an online self-directed course for Green Arts Initiative members based on a pre-existing project plan
- Supporting environmental reporting, Green Arts Initiative, and screen sustainability delivery through provision of prescribed guidance such as reporting specific guidance and the Green Arts Charter
- Contributing to wider Culture for Climate Scotland delivery including externally commissioned talks and workshops, and collating relevant research and knowledge
- Supporting the wider Culture for Climate Scotland team in response to strategic and administrative needs
