About the Role
Enjoy great scope to grow while influencing transport planning in a vibrant borough. Through development management and supporting the delivery of transport policies and projects, you will work closely with planning colleagues to negotiate, secure, and help deliver place-shaping projects.

As a Transport Planner, you will help make improvements happen on the streets of Kensington and Chelsea. Joining a service at the heart of place making, you will have excellent opportunities for progression and the chance to develop valuable skills while making a real difference to the public realm.

You will prepare transport observations for applications under legislation including the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Highways Act 1980, and Business and Planning Act 2020. From construction traffic management plans to pavement licences, you will negotiate, implement, and monitor legal agreements related to planning applications and highway works.

You will also contribute to transport policy work informing development management processes. Your analysis of traffic data will help understand the effects of schemes, incidents, or development works on the highway. You will meet with applicants and provide high-quality advice to colleagues and the public.

Working in a well-resourced team of four, including a manager and senior transport planner, you will benefit from a supportive, collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional development. This role offers the unique opportunity to work on high-profile public realm projects that enhance walking environments and local streetscapes in a central London borough rich in history and conservation areas.

We offer a competitive salary, structured training through our learning network, flexible hybrid working, and comprehensive wellbeing support.
