We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Tree Officer to join our Parks and Open Spaces Team. You will lead all aspects of tree management and maintenance across Council-maintained Parks, Housing Estates, Cemeteries, and Closed Churchyards. Working within the In-House Grounds Maintenance Team, you will provide specialist arboricultural advice relating to planning and the wider landscape.

Your responsibilities will include serving Tree Preservation Orders, assessing applications for works on Protected Trees, and managing trees in Conservation Areas district-wide. This role requires travel across the district using your own transport to attend various sites in a timely manner.

Experience
- Proven experience with procedures relating to Tree Preservation Orders and trees in Conservation Areas.
- Up-to-date knowledge of The Town and Country Planning Act, relevant laws, and standards for tree protection and management.
- Experience working within a local government environment is desirable.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full clean UK driving licence is essential due to travel requirements across the district.

Qualifications
- A professional qualification in arboriculture such as a Level 4 Award or Level 4 Apprenticeship is desirable, or willingness to train towards this qualification.
